Speech-Language Pathologist

Andreea is a passionate Speech Language Pathologist who is a graduate of the Masters of Health Program at the University of Toronto. She has been in the field for more than 15 years and has work experience in school boards (Mon Avenir) and early intervention (Early Abilities, Toronto Preschool Speech and Language).

She is trained in Hanen Programs, It Takes Two to Talk — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays and More Than Words-The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with autism. She is also trained in the Prompt method for motor-speech disorders and Apraxia of Speech, Lidcombe Program for preschool stuttering and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). Andreea is also able to provide speech, language and swallowing services to adults, as well as accent reduction in French.

Andreea is passionate about her profession and is able to work in English, French, Spanish and Romanian.

Amritha holds a Post-graduate degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology from India and has nine years of work experience in evaluating and rehabilitating individuals with communication disorders in both India and Canada. She currently practices as a Speech Language Pathologist in Canada and is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

Amritha started her career as an Assistant Professor and has experience in training students, conducting research, and organizing community promotional activities. Her areas of interest include autism spectrum disorder, Augmentative Alternative Communication, speech sound disorders, and stuttering. She is also skilled in tele-rehabilitation for children with ASD. She is a certified NLA trained clinician who is experienced in assessing and treating Gestalt Language Processors. Amritha is a passionate researcher with various international and national publications and presentations to her credit. She provides services in English, Malayalam, and Tamil.

After the completion of her Bachelors in Speech and Language Pathology in Pakistan, Asfia worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist in Pakistan for a period of 7 years. In Canada, Asfia is practising as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant under the supervision of a Canadian certified Speech Language Pathologist.

Asfia worked at a hospital clinic as well as a private pediatric setup. She worked with a diverse group of children between the ages of 2-12 years presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Hearing Impairment, Speech Sound Disorder, Speech and/or Language Delay, Stuttering and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Asfia applied evidence based practice, utilized planned therapy procedures and ensured dynamic assessments for monitoring therapy outcomes.

Asfia is OPT Level 1 trained (Oral Placement Therapy) for motor-speech disorders and provides services in English and Urdu.

Brittney is a passionate Communicative Disorders Assistant who obtained her Honours Graduate certificate from Durham College. She also holds an Honours Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Guelph. Since graduating, Brittney has gained experience in communicative rehabilitation with children and adults with varying needs. Focusing on language, articulation, social, motor, and fluency goals.

Brittney maintains a client-centred approach and implements play-based learning throughout therapy sessions. While working in tandem with her clients and their families to achieve their mutual goal of improved communication, autonomy, and self-advocacy.

Carmen

Carmen is a CDA and a Certified Health Executive with a Masters in Healthcare Leadership and Administration, (Hons)BA in Linguistics, diploma in Developmental Services, and is currently completing verified sequence courses in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. 
 
She has been working with people with developmental disabilities to promote quality of life through communication, acts of daily living, and autonomy in various settings such as: sleep away camps, respite programs, day programs, group homes, and clinical settings for more than 15 years.
 
Carmen also has experience providing speech and language services for people with acquired brain injury in rehabilitation hospital settings, with people with dual diagnosis or neurodevelopmental disabilities on an inpatient unit. She is PECS trained level 1, and provides services in English and Cantonese.

Dona is a passionate Speech Language Pathology Assistant and an Instructor Therapist at Speech Avenues with a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology(India) and a Post-graduate diploma in Autism and Behavioural Science.

Dona has experience in working specifically with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is able to implement treatment goals with fun and motivating activities individualized to clients. She has worked with children with ASD, ADHD, cerebral palsy, down syndrome and various clientele providing  intervention plans to speech, language and fluency disorders.

She is compassionate and energetic with children and able to build a wonderful rapport with each child to initiate maximum output for developing speech and language skills.

Dona has also worked in adult speech and language rehabilitation-post stroke supporting adults with aphasia, apraxia, voice and feeding disorders.

She has profound knowledge and experience  in the principles of Applied behavioural Analysis(ABA) and implementing behavioural modification and individualized treatment plan to children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders.

Dona provides services in English and Malayalam.

Vincent is a Communicative Disorders Assistant who is passionate about the field of speech and language therapy. Vincent attended the University of Toronto where he received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Mental Health and Linguistics. After completing university, Vincent also received a Communicative Disorders Assistant graduate certificate at Durham College. 

Vincent is enthusiastic about the field of communication disorders and enjoys working with pre-school and school age children. In his experience, he has worked closely with children who have special needs including autism, gestalt language learners, and those with delayed speech. Regarding communicative areas, he has experience working on articulation, language, and multi-modal communication (i.e., Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Vincent works closely alongside members of the family, to foster meaningful outcomes, and is an advocate for the family-centred model approach. 

Vincent provides services in English and is conversant in Cantonese.

Krupa is a passionate Speech Language Pathology Assistant. She holds a Master in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology from India. She also earned a Post-graduate diploma in Autism and behavioural science from Niagara College. 

Krupa started her career as an assistant professor and has experience working with children with various speech and language disorders. Clients have shown great appreciation for her clinical insight and experience. She provides service in English, Malayalam and Kannada.

Leila Farah is a Bachelor in Speech-Language Pathology graduate from Pontificia Universidade Católica of São Paulo, Brazil, Language Specialist, and Master in Sciences – field Speech and Language Pathology from Universidade Federal of São Paulo, Brazil.

She is a Canadian Citizen, residing in Toronto since 2014, with High Distinction Diploma in Community Service Work from CITI College, Toronto, and Communication Skills for Human Services Course: Child/Youth Settings from Seneca College, Toronto.

Along 36 years, has worked as clinician attending children, youth, adults, and seniors with speech and language disorders, mainly Autism.

Leila acts as SLPA at Speech Avenue / All Avenues, attending in English and Portuguese. Also works as Special Need Educator at a Public School in Toronto, with Hard Hearing children.

Lucie is passionate about her profession and is dedicated to child rehabilitation services. She aspires to promote the quality of life of the children with special education needs and their families.

During her early years of practice as a speech therapist in Hong Kong and Macau, Lucie has accumulated ample experiences working towards different disorders, including Autism Spectrum Syndrome, developmental disabilities (including intellectual disabilities, hearing impairment, William’s Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome etc.), language disorders, articulation disorders, selective mutism and feeding disorders.

Lucie has received trainings in Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention, as well as SOS Approach to Feeding. Believing in the power of family-centered therapy, Lucie works closely with the family members. She provides services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Mehreen is a Speech and Language Pathologist graduated from the City University of London with a Master of Science in Speech and Language Therapy. Mehreen has 4 years of experience working with preschool and school-aged children across various settings, including in-home, within clinics and schools.

Mehreen’ s professional certifications include the Hanen Centre ®’s More Than Words – for Parents of Children with autism, The Speech and Stuttering Institute-The Motor Speech Training Program and The Speech and Stuttering Institute-Preschool Fluency Pathway. Mehreen has experience providing services to children who require additional support with their social communication, language, fluency and speech production skills. 

Mehreen can provide treatment in English and Urdu.

Worked as an enthusiastic Speech Therapist for more than 10 years in Hong Kong, Natalie serves as a SLPA at Speech Avenue. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. 

Natalie has extensive knowledge and training in providing evidence-based practice to pre-school and school-aged children with speech, language and communication needs. She has professional certifications in Hanen Programs ® (It Takes Two to Talk, More than Words, Learning Language and Loving it), PROMPT for motor speech disorders and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). She is also trained in Baby Signs, Social Stories, Social Cognition and Floortime. 

She is a trilingual clinician, providing services in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Sasha is a Speech Language Pathologist who completed her Masters of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Alberta.

She has worked with adults who have had a stroke and adults with Parkinson’s Disease, and has provided services related to dysarthria, aphasia, and apraxia. She also has experience working with children in school boards and preschool speech and language programs, providing services related to articulation, language, motor speech disorders and fluency.

Sasha provides services in English.

Sinziana (Suzi) is a Speech-Language Pathologist with 8 years of experience with preschool and school-aged children. Following graduation from the University of Toronto with a Master in Health Science (Speech Pathology) and a Master of Arts (Linguistics), Suzi worked in private practice and then in Early Abilities and at the Scarborough Health Network, in a outpatient multidisciplinary setting. Her professional certifications include the Hanen Centre ®’s It Takes Two to Talk, More Than Words, Target Word, and ABCs and Beyond, PROMPT Institute training, for children with speech production difficulties. A more recent area of practice is pediatric feeding disorders with training from the SOS Approach to Feeding, Kim Barthe’s Eating and Feeding Matters, training from Mary Tarbell-Bickley, Shona Marcus, and Melanie Potock.

Suzi enjoys working with children with difficulties in a variety of areas – social interaction, language, articulation, motor speech, and feeding. Suzi provides services in English, French, and Romanian.

Tiffany is a Communicative Disorders Assistant with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics. She furthered her education at Durham College and has a Post-graduate certificate from the Communicative Disorders Assistant program. 

Tiffany worked in the private sector for 5-6 years with a variety of population such as preschool, school-aged, and adults with neurological disorders. She provided intervention in the following areas; expressive and receptive early language communication delay, social communication skill, play/interaction skills, early literacy/phonological awareness, and alternative communication. 

Tiffany continued to further her career by completing a master’s degree in development psychology and education. At Speech Avenue and All Avenues, Tiffany supports the staff with training and intervention strategies when needed. Tiffany also supports the CDA placement students that join our company.

Bawan is a passionate and dedicated Board Certified Behaviour Analyst® (BCBA®) with several years of experience working with children and youth with ASD and other developmental disabilities. She is a graduate from Western University with a Masters of Professional Education with field specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis and the University of Waterloo with a Joint Honours Bachelor of Science double major in biomedical science and psychology. Bawan has a variety of experience implementing evidence-based interventions in the home, clinic and community settings. Outside of the office, Bawan enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Christine graduated the Child and Youth Worker Program at Centennial College with honours. She has worked in a variety of settings such as group homes, client’s homes, schools, and Centre based scenarios. She is successful at and enjoys helping individuals expand their life skills and reach their personal potential. 

Christine has provided ABA therapy for over 15 years. She has great reviews from her   clients and many clients have been long term clients. These clients have become like family members. This has enabled her to observe so much growth and experience the positive changes that result from these client’s accomplishments.

Christine lives for the “AH,” moments! To be clear, the “AH” moments are the ones when all the challenging work that a client has done, finally falls into place.

Eldrin has over 10 years of experience working in the Healthcare industry and is very passionate when it comes to working with vulnerable populations.

When she finished university, Eldrin started off her career in healthcare administration and grew wanting to be more involved in client care. After achieving her Post-graduate diploma in Behaviour, she has not looked back since.

Izzah has been working as a Behaviour Therapist for 2 and a half years providing ABA therapy for individuals with ASD aged 1-18. Izzah also has a year of experience providing parent coaching in Urgent Response Services.  

Izzah is extremely passionate about helping parents, guardians, and clients achieve their goals for themselves and their loved ones with the use of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Izzah’s favourite part of the job is being a part of and witnessing her clients’ improvements and celebrating each achievement with the families that she has worked with.

Kim-Michael Black is a graduate of George Brown College where she majored in Autism and Behaviour Management. She started at the organization as an intern and with the help of supportive staff, she was able to grow into the experienced behavior therapist she is today.
 
Psychology and working with children with special needs has always been her passion. Kim puts care, love and dedication into what she does and because of that she does it well. She can help children learn and build skills that strengthen independence and help families build healthy relationships.
 
Her teaching incorporates many different approaches because she acknowledges that every child is unique. She is always high energy and open to sharing a fun learning experience.

Kirusaa is an Instructor Therapist with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Psychology. Also, she has her certification from the Behavioural Science Technician Program at George Brown College. She has excellent communication skills developed through four years of working with adults and children. After finishing school, she has been working full-time as an Instructor Therapist and has loved what she has been doing ever since!
