Paediatric swallowing difficulties occurs when a child has trouble swallowing while feeding. Your child may have feeding difficulties if he or she avoids eating, refuses new foods, does not yet feed themselves when age-appropriate, or has difficulties using a spoon or a fork correctly. Those behaviours are compared to developmental norms to determine any delays. Our clinicians provide appropriate therapeutic strategies to improve feeding. We also provide useful and comprehensive strategies to improve your child’s awareness of their own behaviour while feeding, as well as developing the skills required to feed appropriately. Our clinicians also provide strategies to facilitate the introduction of new age-appropriate food options allowing for nutritious and healthy feeding habits.
